Instrument Calibration Solutions (ICS), a Brechbuhler Scales company, provides ISO/IEC 17025 accredited electrical calibration for multimeters, clamp meters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, insulation testers and more. Calibrations are traceable to NIST and are performed in our Clayton, OH and Aliquippa, PA laboratories or by our mobile calibration lab based in Canton, OH, which comes to your facility.

Our electrical calibration standards
Our electrical lab is built around a Fluke 5522A and 5520 multi-product calibrator with scope pack. The 5522A sources DC and AC voltage and current, including multiple waveforms and harmonics, two simultaneous voltage outputs, or voltage and current together to simulate DC and AC power with phase control. It also sources resistance, capacitance, and thermocouple and RTD signals, and it can measure thermocouple temperature and pressure using any of our 29 Fluke 700 Series pressure modules. The scope pack adds oscilloscope calibration.

Electrical calibration FAQs
How often should a multimeter or clamp meter be calibrated?
Most manufacturers and quality systems specify every 12 months. Shorten the interval for critical measurements, after a drop or overload, or if the last calibration found the instrument out of tolerance. Your quality system sets the final interval.
What does ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation mean for my audit?
ANAB accreditation means an independent body has assessed the laboratory's technical competence, equipment and measurement uncertainty. ISO 9001, AS9100 and IATF 16949 audits expect calibration that is traceable to national standards, and accredited calibration is the most direct way to show it. The ICS accreditation certificate is linked at the top of this page.
What is "as found" and "as left" data?
As-found data is how an instrument measured before any adjustment, and as-left data is how it measures afterward. If the as-found readings are out of tolerance, you may need to review measurements taken since the last calibration.
Can you calibrate on-site?
Yes. Our mobile calibration lab, based in Canton, OH, comes to your facility and can perform all of the electrical calibrations listed above. You can also send instruments to our Clayton, OH or Aliquippa, PA laboratory.
What can the Fluke 5522A calibrate?
The 5522A sources DC and AC voltage and current, resistance, capacitance, and thermocouple and RTD signals, and it simulates DC and AC power with phase control. With the scope pack it also calibrates oscilloscopes.
