Fort Wayne Team Installs In-Motion Check-Weigher System

Our Fort Wayne branch recently completed the first of two automated in-motion check-weigher installations for a customer’s production line.

Unlike a static scale, an in-motion check-weigher captures accurate product weights while items move along a conveyor or process line, which avoids the production slowdown of stopping to weigh each item and gives real-time data for quality control, compliance, and operational efficiency.

The Fort Wayne team worked directly with the customer to integrate PLC-based automation so the weighing system communicates cleanly with their existing production controls. The result automatically identifies and rejects out-of-spec products in addition to delivering accurate weight measurements.

This kind of installation is what our engineered solutions team does regularly: combining scale technology, automation, and process integration to solve a specific customer’s problem. With the first system installed and the second on the way, the customer should see improved accuracy, less waste, and more throughput.
