PRESSURE CALIBRATION

Our SI Pressure Instruments 9250 can achieve hydraulic pressures from 10 to 10,000 psi with an accuracy of 0.015%.

Pressure Calibration

Instrument Calibration Solutions (ICS), a Brechbuhler Scales company, provides ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration for pressure and vacuum instruments, including digital and analog gauges, manometers, barometers, pressure calibrators, pressure modules, sensors and process gauges. Calibrations are traceable to NIST and are performed in our Clayton, OH and Aliquippa, PA laboratories or by our mobile calibration lab based in Canton, OH, which comes to your facility.

Every ICS lab, including the mobile lab, can perform all of the pressure calibrations listed below.

Our pressure calibration standards

Using a combination of pneumatic, hydraulic and transducer-type instrumentation, ICS can service a wide variety of pressure devices. Our SI Pressure Instruments 9250 can achieve hydraulic pressures from 10 to 10,000 psi with an accuracy of 0.015%. Both in the lab and out in the field, we can handle the pressure.

ICS is a Brechbuhler Scales company, so your calibration is backed by the local branch support you already know.

Pressure calibration FAQs

How often should a pressure gauge be calibrated?

Most quality systems specify every 12 months. Shorten the interval for gauges that see frequent pressure cycling, vibration, pulsation or overpressure, or for critical measurements. Your quality system sets the final interval.

What is the difference between gauge, absolute and differential pressure?

Gauge pressure is measured relative to atmospheric pressure, absolute pressure is measured relative to a perfect vacuum, and differential pressure is the difference between two ports. Tell us which type your instrument measures, along with its range, so we calibrate it correctly.

What pressure range can you calibrate hydraulically?

Our SI Pressure Instruments 9250 can achieve hydraulic pressures from 10 to 10,000 psi with an accuracy of 0.015%. We also use pneumatic and transducer-type instrumentation to service a wide variety of pressure devices.

Why does the accuracy of the calibration standard matter?

A common rule is a 4:1 test uncertainty ratio, meaning the standard should be about four times more accurate than the device being calibrated. Using that rule, a standard with an accuracy of 0.015% supports calibrating devices with tolerances down to about 0.06%.

Which pressure instruments do you calibrate?

We calibrate digital pressure gauges, analog pressure and test gauges, digital manometers, barometers, pressure calibrators, pressure modules, pressure sensors, process gauges and valves.

Which manufacturers do you cover?

Manufacturers covered include, but are not limited to, Ashcroft, Crystal Engineering, Druck, Dwyer, Fluke, GE, Heise, Meriam, Noshok, Rosemount, Ruska, TSI and Vaisala.

Can you calibrate on-site?

Yes. Our mobile calibration lab, based in Canton, OH, comes to your facility and can perform all of the pressure calibrations listed above. You can also send instruments to our Clayton, OH or Aliquippa, PA laboratory.

What does ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation mean for my audit?

ANAB accreditation means an independent body has assessed the laboratory's technical competence, equipment and measurement uncertainty. ISO 9001, AS9100 and IATF 16949 audits expect calibration that is traceable to national standards, and accredited calibration is the most direct way to show it. The ICS accreditation certificate is linked at the top of this page.
